Daniel Faoro – Director (Term Ends, September 2019)
Professor Faoro is an architect and associate professor at Lawrence Technological University since 2000. He has served at multiple private and public universities and teaches and coordinates upper division studios and building systems coursework in both Architecture and Engineering degree programs. He holds a M. Arch/UD from Harvard University and a B.Arch. with Distinction in Design from the University of Illinois-at Chicago. He has received multiple awards for his service and held executive board positions for Churches United for the Homeless in Moorhead, MN, The Eastside Emergency Center in Detroit, MI. He was a Board member and founding member of The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Conference at St. John Neumann in Canton, MI to assist the poor and homeless. His spiritual direction has been under the Miles Christi order since 2001. He will be an invited presenter at the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars Convention at Benedictine College in Sept. 2018. He and his wife Catherine have been married for twenty-eight years and have been blessed with two daughters.
He was a coordinator for the AIA Search for Shelter initiative in 1998-99. He has published in processional ethics, technical education, and sustainability. His students have won seven awards for sustainable architecture and building design (ASHRAE) since 2006-2015. He coordinated research work on development of a Historic HABS report and furniture restoration for The Gregor and Elizabeth Affect House.
John Fitzpatrick – Director, Secretary (Term Ends, September 2019)
Mr. Fitzpatrick is Director of the Office of Good Government at the State of Michigan. John has been a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul since 2006 and has served as a Conference President and District Council President. He currently serves as Secretary of the Journey to Housing Program, a Special Work of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Detroit, and as a member of the St. Valentine Conference in Redford, Michigan. John earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Business Turnaround Management from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Mr. Hazard received his Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, his Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University, Ann Arbor, MI. He is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives and served as an Examiner for the Michigan Quality Award program. He has served in senior leadership positions in hospitals, government healthcare programs, community not-for- profit organizations and Long-term care organizations over a 35-year career. He continues to teach Health Care Administration classes at the graduate level at Central Michigan University’s Global Campus.

Lorraine Zaksek – Director (Term Ends, September 2020)
Mrs. Zaksek is a retired Speech and Language Pathologist. She is the former owner and director of Building Bridges Therapy Center (previously Speech, Language and Sensory Motor Systems) in Plymouth, Michigan. Lorraine served as the president of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. John Neumann Catholic Church from 2012 to 2015. She is among several co-founders of the Journey to Housing Program. Lorraine is the mother of 2 married children and 5 grandchildren.
Mary Jo Farmer – Chair Assessment Committee
Married to John Farmer, two Married Children, Michelle & Mark Simon, Donald & Lori, and Chester, and three grandchildren, Nathan, Salvatore & Kate.
My first love and passion are for St. Vincent de Paul which I started back at St. Conrad in the city of Melvindale in 1994. The experience of taking care of the needy changes you. The desire to listen and guide the clients is the reason I continue to serve this organization.
Years have passed since I joined SVdP and I ‘am still a member, but time develops more problems for the poor. In 2012 there was many Conference from every city that was having problem with homelessness. When we came together to discuss what we should do, we started JOURNEY to HOUSING, Housing first program, which will help with many families who work but could not afford suitable living! My position at SVdP is Vice President, and with Journey to Housing I serve as Assessment Chair person
